SUNDAY :: FEBRUARY 16, 2003

well...NO news yet...beyond the fact that I have officially passed my due date.

Oh - and I seem to have some "unfixable" error happening on my laptop which is causing me to use steve's computer. whhhhhhy?

anyway - how many of you are really all that surprised that I still haven't had the baby? I mean...come on...we're always LATE for everything, anyway. why should this be any different?

otherwise - I pretty much feel the same that I've felt for the past few weeks now. okay, MONTH now. just getting LARGER and LARGER by the minute. or at least feeling like I am.

TUESDAY :: FEBRUARY 11, 2003

it's now about 10pm. for some reason I am really awake, and sort of energetic. guess I've been "nesting" the last couple of days - well, at least going through some old files and trying to throw things out. This could literally take me months...

came across a couple of things that I just had to scan and post:

#1) one of the things that we learned in "childbirth class" was that during labor you want to try and stay focused during the PAIN of contractions and etc. I guess focused on getting through it? trying not to completely LOSE IT while it's happening? all of these things are still a mystery to me...(AHHHHHH -side note). but - we did read that sometimes women will look at a comforting picture, or have some image that they keep looking towards. we watched one video where the mother kept looking at a picture of her cat, "pouncer" while her husband was holding it up in front of her face.

so - how 'bout this image? it could work?

#2) emile - this one's for YOU! ah, the memories...

well, no pictures to post yet; and though i do say yet, I really don't when i'll get around to it...looks like the 'ole labor can kick in ANYTIME now. I just feel the need to nap a lot of the time now.

ooh - though I DO have to post this invite because it is so amazing! thanks again shannon - and all our friends up here, you guys are great.

TUESDAY :: FEBRUARY 4, 2003

cannot believe that january is over. how did that happen? meanwhile - yes, another week has gone by and I am still pregnant. keep seeing various references to valentine's day in the stores - and I have to say they have been freaking me out a bit. the due date is fast approaching.

BIG thanks to shannon for the party this past saturday night! wow - that was really great. too bad I couldn't hang out as long as everybody else did. going to try and post some pictures later - just wanted to thank you now. and, another thanks to everyone who came, and the prep. and the stuff.

WEDNESDAY :: JANUARY 29, 2003

week 38, and, yes - STILL PREGNANT.

continue to have LOTS TO DO, per usual. today, as I sit here typing away and listening to jimmy cliff, I've been wondering what would be good "labor music" - belle & sebastian? the sea and cake? that new age-y yoga stuff I don't own? mmm...if anyone has any suggestions - please email me and let me know. can't seem to get that part together.

though, knowing me - i'll go into labor and then start making the mixed tape/cd, right? mmm...maybe we could just rent some movies and have a VCR in the hospital? YEAH.

WEDNESDAY :: JANUARY 22, 2003

seeing that it has been a good 5 days without any new postings, thought I would take a moment and write a little something.

though, I am still working on getting some more photos up, right now we have taken to organizing our apt. took a tour of the hospital this past saturday, and had this sudden flash of panic (not only about the whole birth process) but about the fact that NOTHING was ready for the baby. I mean, I now feel like this could happen ANY DAY and uhm, where would she go?

but - that is okay. we're getting there, and things have just started trickling in from the registry, which has been SO GREAT! thanks again to EVERYONE who's gotten us stuff. It really does help us out. Uhm, if you didn't get the registry info, and you are 'like' - "al, what the? why didn't you tell me?" and want it, just go to babiesrus.com or babycenter.com and look up my name, or steve's name in the registry area. YEAH! feel silly posting that info. here, but some people out of the new york and portland areas have been asking.

on another note, I have to mention that another "end of an era" occurred this past saturday. what you are thinking could that possibly be? well...don't want anyone to be shocked if they try calling that 917 cell phone number that I've had since, oh - 1998 and hear that it is no longer in service, or belongs to someone else now. had to do it - as the "upgrade and migration" continues. ah, and I believe it all started when lara and I took a road trip during the summer of 1998. it was a good idea to have that phone...

anyway - that's it for now.

FRIDAY :: JANUARY 17, 2003

so - i'm serious about making this a regular spot to read the latest and find new photos and etc...hence, today's attempt at a frameset. yes - the html skills are a little rusty, but i'll get there.

therefore, after a VERY LONG HIATUS - FIASCO26 is coming BACK. emile wanted to see some of the old stuff, so i'll try and find those files, and uhm, post that stuff too, at some point.
